Running from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington, the 2665 mile PCT meanders from the SoCal desert to the Alpine Mountains in Yosemite to the rainy forests in the North Cascades. We're attempting to thru-hike the PCT during the small window of time that the entire trail is typically passable from May-October. Though a seemingly huge undertaking and perhaps a bit out of the ordinary, it's just walking after all.

Smiling again in Idyllwild after a few rough hot days on the trail. I've decided I need to post more pics of people we meet- like the 73 year old lady with a pack larger than mine and the 8 year old boy hiking with his mom trying to become the youngest person to complete the trail. People amaze me.

I got to represent the Bill McMahen clan. I told of your current endeavor. Everyone wished you well and good luck. You missed some good food and lots of water!!! No water purifier needed. Hope this message finds you well and in good spirits.

Luke thank you for representing us well. I am sure you did a great job. I am super jealous of missing the family, the food, and the water. We have been testing the limits of our water purifier lately. I will let you know how it turns out. Let me know if I should expect a pistol in the mail anytime soon. Talk to you soon.

The video below is what inspired me on many of those days and nights when it seemed like the possibility of even taking this chance was a mere dream. If there is any video that can inspire you to leave the comfort of your home with your air conditioning, comfortable bed, refrigerator, hot water and pack up all of the belongings that you will need into a bag that is smaller than the luggage that I take with me on most week long business trips (I have been called a Diva due to my packing style) then this video is it.
