We ran down the mountain the last mile to this cafe for our 2nd breakfast of the day and it was unbelievable...I had a huge omelet, biscuits and gravy, and then 1/2 of Kristi's plate. I am a bottomless pit.

So far things have been going well for us we have been really blessed. Our water purifier broke on day 3 which is about the last thing you want to go especially when you are drinking out of horse troughs and tadpole ponds (yes we drank out of both using only Aquamira). Hopefully that stuff works. So far we have shown no signs of turning into amphibians except for the webbed toes, but beggars can't be choosers when it comes to water in the desert and you are drinking around 7 liters per day.

Now we just made it through our first and second hitchhikes of this journey. Our second driver made said he would only pick us up if we agreed to one thing which is always scary to hear before hitching a ride, his request was that we say we were Ron Paul supporters. We both replied Hell yeah we're for Ron Paul 2012 and happily rode the next 10 miles to Idyllwild where my good buddy Owen (belligiderante) Main hooked us up with a great cabin to stay in. Thanks Owen and Callie you guys are the best. These cabins are wonderful.

Now Kristi and I get a Nero (a short day of hiking where where do next to nothing) and maybe we will take a zero day tomorrow. Who knows. Our blisters are starting to get blisters after 9 straight days averaging 16+ miles a day so some R&R, pizza, and ice cream is just what we need.

More to come soon, but for now it is time to go enjoy Idyllwild which seems like a cool little mountain town, I leave you with this...RON PAUL 2012!
