Running from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington, the 2665 mile PCT meanders from the SoCal desert to the Alpine Mountains in Yosemite to the rainy forests in the North Cascades. We're attempting to thru-hike the PCT during the small window of time that the entire trail is typically passable from May-October. Though a seemingly huge undertaking and perhaps a bit out of the ordinary, it's just walking after all.

After leaving Three Fingered Jack we entered some of the most pristine wilderness that I have been through on this trip. As has been the case through much of Oregon you are often surrounded by forests whose canopy is so thick the darkness cannot escape it and light dares not enter, but then you have moments like the one photographed where you wander out onto a cliff and a view that is difficult to comprehend comes into sight. This is Mount Jefferson standing in all it's majesty near sunset.
